Caring for Your Purchase

Shells and Kelp

If you have been fortunate enough to purchase kelp or shell jewellery, please remember this is a natural material and all care has been taken to seal and protect these items. Please do not wear this jewellery in the shower or submerge in water. To clean and take care of the pieces, wipe them down with a damp cloth or if you’d like to shine your shells or kelp, some coconut oil on old piece of cloth.

Natural Fibres

Like shells and kelp, natural fibres are natural materials and must be cared for as such. If you’ve been lucky enough to purchase one of our Creatives beautiful woven baskets, ensure you keep it dry and out of high humidity environments to avoid the basket deteriorating or becoming mouldy.

Paintings

Whilst our artists use high quality paints and sealants on their works, care must be taken. This includes keeping the works away from water or moisture and out of direct sunlight to avoid discolouring. Do not apply weight or pressure to works that have been stretched to avoid warping.

Woodwork

All woodwork has been sealed with varnish or natural wax. To an extent, this makes them waterproof. However, to prolong the life of any wooden item avoid exposing to excess moisture and direct sunlight. Particularly if the item has been painted or decorated.
